This page looks too similar to Xbox Resource’s avatar award page that’s been around for a long time. Consider changing the game layout so that it doesn’t look like such a clone.
We know the guys at Xbox Resource very well. Not really trying to clone them. It’s just the best way. Not many other ways to do it. But any suggestions are welcome.
I like how quickly the page loads, even with all of the images. The three image rows and same (or approximately same) sized pics are what makes me think of XR’s layout.
Eventually the number of games with avatar awards will be in the 100-200 range, so comething more compact might work better. I don’t know html or flash, so I’m operating out of ignorance here. A horizontal listing with categories such as A-F with some of the “favorite” game in those letters might work. You could break it down into twoe sections as well: retail and arcade.
We appreciate your ideas.
Once we are 100% complete we will start to separate it into categories of retail or arcade, and do a A-G H-K type of thing.
The set up looks similar because we both get the game images direct from Xbox.com. 3 wide isn’t how we Prefer but there is size constraints on a website. If you see our same list on our Facebook account it is 6 wide.
We will work to make it more XAG style too. 🙂
Nice. It looks great. Four across looks more symmetrical and helps to distinguish your site.
I visit XAG more than Xbox Resource’s page these days, as you are on the ball. Your news is as timely as avatar news gets. and your enthusiasm is awesome. Thanks.
